GLOBIS Scholarships and Loans
GLOBIS Scholarships
All applicants to the Full-time MBA Program are eligible to apply for GLOBIS Scholarships. GLOBIS Scholarships can cover up to 50% of tuition and are available to students who demonstrate the potential to contribute to the GLOBIS community with exceptional academic performance and leadership skills.
GLOBIS Education Loan
GLOBIS University provides financial assistance in the form of GLOBIS Education Loans to non-Japanese students who are admitted to the Full-time MBA program and are studying on a student visa.
Scholarships from Other Organizations
JASSO Scholarship
(MEXT Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students)
The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) offers a scholarship for self-financed students who are expected to hold a student visa.
MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation)
The MEXT Scholarship is funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of Japan. This scholarship is available only for non-Japanese applicants who pass the screening process in the November application round. This scholarship is extremely competitive, and only a limited number of applicants are selected.
MEXT Scholarship Extension and Transfer
MEXT Scholars (Embassy-recommended) may be eligible to apply for an extension of their scholarship to cover enrollment in a higher degree program. Before applying, the scholar’s current university conducts a screening process to confirm that applicants meet all eligibility criteria and qualify for a recommendation for the scholarship extension. Depending on the type of scholarship, some MEXT Scholars may also have the option to apply for an extension that allows them to pursue their degree at a university different from the one they currently attend.
MEXT Scholarship (Embassy Recommendation)
When seeking an embassy recommendation, the application process for your MEXT scholarship must begin before you apply to GLOBIS University. Please contact your local Japanese Embassy for more information. The benefits you receive are the same as the MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation).

Important Notes
Please note that, depending on whether you are enrolled in the Full-time MBA or Part-time & Online MBA, there are some differences in requirements and available courses:
- Critical Thinking is required for Full-time MBA students.
- Integrated Learning Program – Internship is for Full-time MBA only.
Internships (Integrated Learning Program)
Internships provide critical, first-hand experience for those seeking to understand Japan’s corporate world. Translate your classroom knowledge into practical skills and show potential employers your strengths.
But you’re not just there to show your potential–you’re there to add value.
Our sponsor organizations will determine the scope of your projects as an intern. To achieve your course objectives, you must take initiative and communicate.
What’s unique about a GLOBIS internship?
At GLOBIS, we don’t call them internships. We call them the Integrated Learning Experience (ILP), which is an integral part of our MBA curriculum. ILP combines actual work experience with ongoing academic support from faculty and credits for graduation.
Here’s how it works:
- One week after the start of ILP, you’ll be asked to submit a pre-assignment, such as market research of your host company or a business development pitch. Faculty will mentor you one-on-one to drill down into operations, market research, business plan development, etc.
- After a month, you will share your progress with your faculty advisor
- Finally, at the end of ILP, you will present your final project to GLOBIS.
Why GLOBIS Students Apply for ILP
Internships through ILP provide a win-win for you and our corporate partners.
Benefit for you:
After over 100 hours of internship experience with one of our corporate partners, you’ll be well-versed in applying your MBA to a real-life business environment.
Benefits for our corporate partners:
The market expansion plans you develop are applicable to the real world. In addition, your unique perspective helps provide diversity and boost inclusion in the workplace.
