Learn more about Event Management degree programs
What is event management?
Event management encompasses a wide variety of roles and responsibilities, and is needed in many different situations and business markets. Most of us only get to see the final presentation of an event, whereas in event management, you get to see the entire transformation of the event from the idea phase all the way through the planning and organization of every effort to bring together a full event.
Did you know that approximately 40% of marketers believe events are the most effective marketing channel over digital advertising? This is a 32% increase from 2017, signalling that the event management industry is on the rise. In a world inundated with media, consumers value the personal touch that an in-person event can bring. However, there is also a high demand for B2B event planners. After the success of previous events, nearly 55% of companies report that they intend to host more events throughout the year. Events are just that popular!
Event managers must understand the requirements of the brand, identify the target audience, devise the event concept; and manage the planning, logistics and coordinating of technical aspects before actually executing the proposed event successfully. By earning an event management degree, you are provided with the knowledge and training skill set that is necessary to organize and coordinate your own or other’s events.
