Natural attrition and a growing urban population have resulted in an increasing demand for new police and security personnel. The OPP, RCMP and municipal agencies are currently actively pursuing new recruits. Graduates of the Police Foundations 51-Week program are trained to pursue a career in the various policing agencies across Canada. Alternative career paths include Canadian customs and immigration, custody and correctional services, and federal and provincial government enforcement bodies. Court bailiffs, campus police, wardens, personal and property security officers, 9-1-1 operators, and loss prevention control personnel are also in high demand across the country. Throughout the program, students become involved with their local community through assisting police services or event security detail. Students are required to wear the prescribed uniform and name tag during classes and practicum placement.

The Institute of Technology offers both initial and renewal Concealed Carry Weapons training. The course objective is to provide all the necessary laws and rights/responsibilities of carrying a concealed weapon. You will be required to demonstrate proficiency in shooting all of the firearms you want to have included on your Concealed Carry Weapons Permit, up to a maximum of four firearms.
