This program is the accelerated version of the Health Care Assistant program in Gateway College. Students receive the same training and credentials, but complete their studies within six months! Our dedicated and experienced instructors will provide quality education with hands-on training to prepare students for the real world. Students will practice their techniques in labs equipped with articulated mannequins, hospital beds, medical gear and fixtures.

This program is ideal for international students or new immigrants who do not speak English as a first language. It is also suitable for students without a health care background who are not familiar with medical terminology.

This healthcare assistant program is designed to train learners to become Health Care Professionals. Our dedicated and experienced instructors will provide quality education with hands-on training to prepare students for the real world. Students will practice their techniques in labs equipped with articulated mannequins, hospital beds, medical gear, and fixtures.

Program Goal: The ICU training course is designed to help students acquire advanced knowledge and develop skills necessary in the care of critically ill patients. Program Objectives: To assist students, develop a solid and firm ICU foundation. To assist students to gain advanced knowledge in all the modules outlined in the course (refer to course modules). The students will obtain advanced knowledge and accurate skills in performing head-to-toe physical assessments in the lab and in the clinical practicum. The students will learn how to interpret diagnostic tests (i.e. blood works, X-Rays, Pulmonary Pressures through Swan Ganz, PICCO, CVP, etc) accurately and be able to relate them to the clinical manifestations of the critically ill patients and be able to translate them in the care of the critically ill patients. The students will be able to perform nursing procedures required in the care of critically ill patients. The student will be able to handle and cope with the "stress" related to the care of critically ill patients.

This program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skill of learners to work with older adults in order to effectively meet the needs of the aging population. This program will focus on gaining a greater understanding of the physical, social, cognitive and spiritual needs of the older adults, and the challenges faced by our aging population.

Alberta Registered Nurses Assessment Program (ARNAP) Preparation for Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) supports those seeking to become Registered Nurses (RNs) in Alberta. The eight-week ARNAP Preparation program will familiarize you, as an eligible IENs, with the ARNAP exam process.
