This is a liberal arts Drama major. Students will acquire an inter-disciplinary education while simultaneously developing competence in the history, literature, theory, and practice of theater, performance studies, and performance art.

On the Drama, Applied Theatre and Education (DATE) course, you can perform in, direct and devise theatre, explore performance that takes place outside traditional theatre environments, make theatre to change lives and inspire change in communities, and build industry contacts worldwide through placements and outreach projects, and develop skills in areas such as facilitating, devising, directing, performing, playwriting and filmmaking.

With learning opportunities on the stage and behind the scenes, drama majors will master one of the following areas: acting, design, directing, K-12 theatre arts licensure or theater history, as well as front of the house management. We also offer student positions in the scene shop, house electrics, and the costume shop, as well as internships with local theater companies. Drama majors can grow their technical theater skills by joining the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), while Alpha Psi Omega, the national theater honor society, produces student shows and events.

This class is responsible for all aspects of the drama, such as acting, props and set.

Launched in 2012, the four-year BFA (Honours) Degree in Drama programme is structured to produce professional practitioners with a vision of the arts in society and a concern for their importance, relevance and development. To a rigorous regimen of practical craft-skills work are added conceptual knowledge of the development of theatre practice, both historical and contemporary, Western and Asian.

Get two degrees in five years by combining your studies in drama education from K-12. In this B.F.A. in the drama program, you'll learn the skills necessary to fulfill your dreams as a performer. As a drama major, you can choose between two specialized tracks, acting or musical theater performance. Students specializing in acting will focus on advanced acting techniques, directing, technical theater, and playwriting, and students specializing in musical theater performance will study singing and vocal techniques, dance, music theory, and musical theater history.
