The Degree in Agricultural Engineering trains professionals with extensive scientific and technological knowledge and trains them to develop activities in the agricultural and food sector. The studies authorize to project, execute and direct facilities and operations included in the agricultural branches and the product transformation industry.

The degree in Engineering of the Agricultural and Food Industries has a great career prospect given the growing demand for engineers specifically trained in this field. According to data from 2012 from the FDE (FoodDrinkEurope), the agri-food sector is the leader in employment at the European level, representing 15% of jobs and billing 6.8% more since 2009. The agri-food industries feel, more and more , the need to innovate and differentiate from the competition. To achieve this, they demand engineers specialized in this branch of knowledge and capable of facing the challenges of a globalized and constantly evolving market.

This Master Program aims to provide students with the scientific, technological and socio-economic training necessary to pursue the profession of agricultural engineer. The degree therefore qualifies students to exercise a regulated profession, and the design of the competences is in accordance with the provisions established by the Government for this degree ORDER CIN 325/2009.

The general objective of the title of "Master in Agronomic Engineering" is the training of senior technicians trained to project, plan, organize, direct and control the production systems and processes developed in the agri-food sector, including the infrastructures and facilities necessary for efficient performance of these productive activities, all within a framework of protection and conservation of the environment and of development and improvement of the rural environment.

The Máster Universitario en Ingeniería Agronómica from the Polytechnic University of Valencia consists of 120 ECTS (two academic years), with a common part of 60 ECTS and another specialization in plant production, animal production, agri-food industries, rural engineering, biotechnology, food economics for development and natural resources and the environment.

The master's aims to provide the basis for the training of researchers who carry out their R+D+i activity in the various links of the food chain, from the correct management and conservation of natural resources and the environment (source of raw materials ) to the latest advances in processing or biotechnology, going through quality and food safety, guaranteeing comprehensive and multidisciplinary training that allows graduates to develop and implement new technologies in the agri-food sector, as well as the development of new products and/or the valuation of those that currently exist in the market.
