8 Religious Education Preparatory Programs

The Religion department's undergraduate major is built to be as flexible as possible so that students may pursue individual interests and interdisciplinary goals. The major provides students with the opportunity to explore mainline religious traditions and marginal/repressed religious currents within multicultural and transnational contexts. Students will gain religious literacy while studying the historical, social, cultural, psychological, philosophical, and cognitive dynamics of religion and religious experience.

Students who complete this course successfully will receive a Diploma in Higher Education from Durham University. The agreement between Bristol Baptist College and Durham University is reviewed every five years and began in September 2014.

Religion is an essential part of the humanistic studies in a liberal arts education. The study of religion is one way to establish a view of reality, and more specifically a view of the meaning of human existence as individuals and as social beings in relation to ultimate reality, however that reality is understood.

“The Bible as Story” invites you on a journey through the sweeping narrative of the Bible, spanning from Genesis to Revelation. Navigating the Bible can often be perplexing, but this course is designed to unveil the overarching narrative through imaginative stories and adaptations. These renditions breathe life into the text, providing students with a fresh and dynamic approach to reading Scripture. Through this experience, the course aims not only to illuminate the Bible’s grand narrative but also to kindle a spark within students to craft their own narratives inspired by the text.

Homiletics I Duration: 3yr.

"Know religion (s) - develop spirituality - learn to live relationships" - this is the motto of the new curricula for the teaching degree courses in Catholic religion for primary and secondary levels.

AVFL is a six-week youth discipleship program of Calvary Chapel Bible College Europe. AVFL 2021 will be based out of Hungary. Every summer students from around the world come together as one team for 40 days to unplug from the world and plug into Jesus. Since the creation of the program in 2003, the Lord has been radically using this program to encourage, empower, and equip our students for their lives and for their future ministry.

This course helps the teacher develop skills and methods of teaching the Bible with consideration to the varying ages of children’s ministry within the church.
