UFSC Biological Sciences Program is a broad-ranging degree that provides students with knowledge of various biological areas, such as Cell Biology, Embryology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Botany, Physiology, Parasitology, Morphology, Ecology, Zoology, Microbiology, Immunology and Pharmacology. The student can also choose to pursue a teaching degree – in this case, the graduate will be able to work as a teacher in primary and secondary schools.

The course trains excellent educators for both formal education, such as schools, and informal education, in which the professional works with teaching and Environmental Education in institutions such as zoos, botanical gardens, companies and NGOs, among other possibilities. Due to its diverse field of work, this profession is considered dynamic, as is the undergraduate course, with practical and theoretical classes that offer the possibility of developing skills and discovering vocations.

UFSC Geography Program offers two types of degrees: an undergraduate degree that prepares for recognition activities, surveys, geo-economic and physico-geographical studies, and other tasks in the general and specific fields of Geography, and an undergraduate teaching degree that prepares students for a career in primary and secondary school teaching. The program belongs to the Department of Geosciences at the School of Human Sciences and Philosophy. It is linked to five specific areas of this department: physical geography, human geography, cartography, geology and oceanography.

The chemical engineer can work in chemical and petrochemical industry processes and in the development of projects for production units, in addition to working in the areas of materials, food, computer science, environment, among others. In the environmental field, the chemical engineer is responsible for studying the environment pollution degree through chemical analysis of water and gas emissions control.

The Chemistry degree aims to prepare professionals for the development of research in industries or academic institutions. The program offers strong theoretical and practical foundations which enable graduates to become researchers and to pursue graduate studies in Chemistry. The continued studies in graduate school, especially in doctoral programs, allows graduates to teach in universities or in research centers. The program also provides students with knowledge of the techniques currently used in chemical laboratories.
