The Hard Rock Mining Program is designed to prepare those interested in the mining industry to move forward on a career path in the industry. Students will also develop an understanding of the many job possibilities and related requirements for employment in the mining industry as well as some basic hands-on skill development.

The Mining Legislation Specialization program of the Vision of the Americas University Institution is aimed at qualifying the training of professionals in mining regulations in Colombia, to participate in prospective scenarios of legal intervention with the State. Due to its high impact on the economic, environmental, and social environment of the country, the mining sector makes it necessary to study it from a legal perspective as a contribution to the resolution of social conflicts in the regions, and the agility of mining and environmental procedures and processes, among others. , aimed at making this industry more competitive and productive.

This program provides students with the entry-level knowledge and skills to function as a valuable member of a mineral exploration team on projects in grassroots exploration to mine-site exploration. The two-semester program incorporates both classroom teaching and valuable hands-on experience during a culminating two-week field school. The modular format and distance or in-class delivery of this program provide the flexibility for students to study while maintaining their employment and caters to students in remote northern communities.
