18 Media Technology Preparatory Programs

The Diploma in Mass Media Management is for you if you love content and creativity and aspire to join the media industry.

The Division of Arts, Languages and Communication provides courses of study in communication including media communications, and speech communication; in fine arts, including art, dance, theatre arts and music; and in World Languages and American Sign Language.

The Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology are designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary to access and progress to degree-level study or employment in the media sector.

The media, innovation, and technology team has integrated their areas of instruction to create multi-disciplinary classes for Brookside students in grades one through five. The focus of this class is to enhance Brookside’s curriculum through the use of current and evolving technology and problem-solving skills. The instruction team works closely with the classroom teachers to integrate skills with numerous aspects of grade level curriculum.

The Associate in Science in Film, Television and Electronic Media for Transfer, also called the Film, Television & Electronic Media AS-T Degree, offers students a comprehensive lower division program that prepares them for entry-level jobs in film production companies, radio and television stations or multimedia businesses. It also enables them to transfer into a four-year program of study in film, television and electronic media. Students in this program will gain a critical understanding of mass media, as well as practical skills in writing, producing, directing and editing films, videos, radio programs and other multimedia content. Students earning this degree are well prepared for careers in motion picture production, radio and television broadcast and the electronic media.

The Foundation Degree in Creative Media Production at Weymouth College is designed for students wishing to develop a range of creative and technical skills, a greater understanding of visual communication, and an informed strategy for entry into the creative media industries.

This entry-level qualification provides the foundation skills and knowledge to use information and communications technology (ICT) in any industry.

Multimedia content is everywhere. The electronic media degree program at Wayne State prepares you for a wide range of careers in professions that use multimedia communication tools.

By studying Media Studies A level, you will develop the knowledge and skills needed to analyse the products of the media. You will look at all aspects of their design from their audio-visual presentation to the rhetorical devices and connotations of the language they use. You will examine a wide range of material and media forms, ranging from television and film to online media, music, print and advertising. Case studies on a selection of products will be used to support essay answers in the exams.

In current technology, communications, computing and entertainment have converged to create completely new media possibilities and experiences.

Students enrolled in the Broadcasting Production Technology curriculum will develop professional skills in radio, television, audio, video, and related applications. Training will emphasize speech, scriptwriting, production planning, editing, and post-production. Students will also study the development of the broadcasting industry, sales, ethics, law, marketing, and management. Hands-on training and teamwork approaches are essential to the instructional process. Upon successful completion, students are prepared to enter broadcasting, production, and related industries in a variety of occupations.

The Acting for Camera Conservatory Program prepares students for careers in performing for film and media through on-camera acting training. The program is specifically responsive to the growing interest in careers in acting for film, television, and new and future media, as well as creating content for emerging platforms. Students are provided with a broad understanding of the history and current state of the film and new media industries.

Our Bachelor in Interactive Media is a three-year degree (or two-year accelerated program). In this degree, you will gain multi-disciplined and hands-on experience that is underpinned by theoretical knowledge.
