Mechatronic technology is an interdisciplinary field that combines the study of mechanics, electronics, automation, and computers. The program includes a wide range of skill-builder courses. The Associate in Science in Mechatronic Technology is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required for a variety of positions in various industries.

In today’s technology-based industry and consumer products, there are few products that would not fall under the Mechatronics category. Mechatronics machines and products typically perform mechanical task under the directions of a digital controller using software instructions. Examples of such devices are robots, automation devices, cars, aircraft, communication devices, chemical and food processing devices, appliances, and more.

In this program, you’ll learn to repair, maintain, and help design pneumatics (compressed air) and hydraulics (pressurized oil) systems. As a graduate of the program, you’ll be ready to take the test to become nationally certified by the Fluid Power Society.

The field of Diploma in Mechatronics (Electromechanical Engineering) reflects the integration of four areas in engineering: mechanical, electrical, electronics, and automation. Graduates of the Electromechanical Engineering Technician - Mechatronics program will have the skills and knowledge to enter the workforce in a wide variety of industrial environments and advanced manufacturing facilities and can be involved with the design, implementation, maintenance and repair of robotic equipment, automation systems, and new product designs.
