The English Course of the Foreign Language Center of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (or CLi-FLUL) is designed for non-native speakers who want to learn or improve the English language. The English course is organized according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, with all six levels available, from A1 to C2.

Our English Language summer school is designed for students with English as a second language. Our three week programme provides expert coaching and immerses students in an English speaking environment.

NESE On-Line Self-Study is a program that allows you to take classes on a schedule of your choice. You can study at whatever speed you want, for example doing 2 hours of English one day and just 20 minutes the next. It is entirely up to you.

The purpose of the English Department is to provide instruction in core courses, such as freshman composition, including research skills; literature and philosophy courses which fulfil the requirements toward a baccalaureate degree; humanities credits for students enrolled in technical and academic programs.
