The Winter School is dedicated to PhD students who perform their research activities in the field of fluid machinery and energy systems engineering, including turbomachinery, internal combustion engines, energy conversion systems, power plants, renewable energy systems and innovative energy systems.

The Professional Certificate of Competency in Advanced Plant Maintenance & AI-Driven Predictive Technologies is a specialized program designed for professionals in mining, energy, oil & gas, and manufacturing. This course provides in-depth training on modern maintenance strategies, asset reliability metrics, and condition monitoring techniques. Participants will explore how AI and machine learning can be applied to fault detection, anomaly analysis, and predictive maintenance, using real-time data from SCADA, PLCs, and CMMS systems.

The minor curriculum is designed to prepare students for professional engineering careers in both the traditional and renewable branches of the electrical energy industry or for graduate studies in the energy field. A grade of C or better is required for all courses in the minor. The Energy Engineering program at Trine University is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to address the challenges of energy production, distribution, and sustainability. The program typically integrates principles from various engineering disciplines to prepare students for careers in the energy sector.

The Energy Utility Technology certificate offers students the opportunity to learn the critical thinking, problem-solving, technical, and soft skills required by the energy industry. All credits will transfer into the Engineering Systems Technology Degree.

BEng Energy and Environmental Engineering is a direct route onto the third year of the Edinburgh Napier University BEng Energy and Environmental Engineering degree program. You will study a range of modules from Pneumatics and Hydraulics to Engineering System Analysis. This course will give you the analytical skills needed for a job in the engineering systems industry. You will learn a variety of essential areas in mechanical, electrical and systems engineering.  

This course aims to develop human resources that can play an active part in the mechanical and electrical energy field through more advanced and applicable education of highly specialized subjects related to the energy sector.

The Alternative Energy-Solar Technology Certificate program is intended to allow students interested in an alternative energy career. This Certificate will provide students with the comprehensive understanding, manipulative skills, technical knowledge, and related trade information required to prepare them for the nationally recognized Solar NABCEP PV and SH Entry Level Exams.

Solar energy technicians, also known as Solar Photovoltaic (PVT) Technicians, are generally responsible for installing, fixing, and maintaining solar energy systems that provide solar power.

An infinite source of clean power: Canada’s bountiful resource. The sun heats our planet to different temperatures in different places and at different times. This unequal distribution of heat is what creates wind as warm air rises and cooler air descends to fill the void. The wind is the ongoing movement of this air. Our vast landscape, our three windy coastlines, the plains, and mountains all contribute to this endless resource. Canada has still only scratched the surface of its massive wind energy potential, which currently powers over 1 million Canadian homes. Tomorrow we hope to do even more. Countries like Denmark already get over 20% of their electricity from wind. If we did the same in Canada, we would have enough wind energy to power 17 million homes! As long as the wind continues to blow, there is a great future in wind energy

This program combines electronic, mechanical, thermal, computer, automation and photonic technologies. It provides students with a hands-on approach in which they not only learn about science and technology, but also apply what they are learning. It is the only Engineering Technologies program of its kind in Quebec. Small classes give students the opportunity to work one-on-one with faculty while exploring the rapidly evolving fields of applied engineering technologies. Courses will be given on the John Abbott campus with opportunities to use the OPTECH Montreal facilities situated at Cegep Andre-Laurendeau.

Wind Technology graduates have the skills necessary to be immediately employed and successful in technical positions. Students completing the program may earn multiple industry certifications such as Climb & Rescue, OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR/AED, and NFPA 70E Arc Flash Safety.
