5 Economic Development Preparatory Programs

How can one use observational data to analyse the causal effects of such events? This course provides a hands-on introduction to statistical methods for causal inference. Over two weeks, students are introduced to experimental and quasi-experimental methods which allow them to infer cause-and-effect relationships robustly. We teach these methods from both a theoretical and applied lens, supplementing lectures with hands-on computer tutorials in the R programming language to help students learn by doing.

The Aboriginal Community Economic Development program provides a first year certificate with an option of taking a second year diploma. As NVIT's ACED program fulfills the 16 competencies of the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers' (CANDO) technician status, upon completion of the 2nd year, students have the option to apply for technician status with CANDO.

This Qualification is for any individual who is, or wishes to be involved in the new venture creation Industry, and it serves to support and advance the functioning of individuals in this industry. On successful completion of the program, the student will receive a Certificate in Local Economic Development.

At the third cycle level, students can acquire the degrees of Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies, Doctor and Aggrégé in higher education in Economics and Development.
