The objective of doctoral studies in Physics is the development of highly qualified researchers in the field of physics, who are able to conduct scientific research for solutions to critical problems. This joint doctoral program provides doctoral students with competencies and knowledge in the areas of condensed matter, the interaction of radiation and matter, optical spectroscopy; the program offers a wide range of topics and general experimental and theoretical research in the areas of meso, micro, and nanostructures, photonic structures, including their formation, analysis and application in plasmonics, biosensors and alternative energy.

This study programme will cover both fundamental and applied mathematical research in areas such as differential equations, financial mathematics, mathematical modelling of biomedical systems, and mathematical theory of operations and its applications. The students will have a wide choice for their research and thesis topic.

The objective of the doctoral study program in chemistry is to train doctors of science, who are ready for a research career, able to work as scientists and educators. The program aims to expand their knowledge in chemistry and related fields, at the same time developing their skills of critical thinking, creativity, training their ability to seek original and independent solutions.

The aim of doctoral studies in Materials Engineering is to prepare the best-qualified specialists – scientists, who are able to individually conduct the works of scientific research and experimental development, and contribute to solving relevant scientific problems of material engineering.

Doctoral studies in Chemical engineering are a traditional, research-based, usually four-year, doctoral degree program, which provides: a thorough grounding in the fundamental principles of chemical engineering, as well as an intensive research experience; a mentoring-intensive environment with co-supervision flexibility, allowing students to work with the outstanding Lithuanian scientist of their field; and others.
