The Master’s degree in Synthetic and Industrial Chemistry is an inter-university Master’s program run by the University of Valladolid, the Public University of Navarre, and the University of the Basque Country (coordinating university). It aims to train specialists in Chemical Synthesis for both the professional/business and the research/academic worlds, enabling them to become experts in synthetic methodology, the preparation of raw materials and/or fine chemicals, structural determination and separation and purification techniques. This Master’s degree allows students to pursue a PhD on completion. Among the main topics of social interest that contribute to guiding research lines in chemistry, we can mention energy, health, environment, and new materials (including nanotechnology) for application in catalysis, electronics, etc. A whole world dependent on new developments in chemical synthesis: new drugs (analgesics, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, diabetes treatments, blood pressure, cancer), new adhesives, new semiconductor materials, new luminescent products for solar cells, new polymers, LEDs, OLEDs, nanoparticles, enantioselectivity… words that portray the world around us, and that make up the world of synthesis. Learn to build molecules and materials with the required chemical, medical or physical functionality, study their structures and properties, and do so with powerful, selective, efficient, and clean procedures. That is the objective of this master's degree oriented towards Synthetic and Industrial Chemistry and that of the doctorates studies.
