The objective of the Master in Mining is to train graduates with great analytical capacity and a solid base in disciplines related to Mining in the areas of Reservoir Evaluation, Rock Mechanics, Mining Technology, Mineral Planning, Mineral Economics, and Sustainability. The graduates of the Program will be able to face complex problems of Mining Engineering using updated tools or developing their own solutions based on the training obtained in the Magister, and lead research and technological development projects in mining companies. It is also expected that the graduate will have a global vision of the mining business as an orientation to decision-making in a work environment.

The Civil Mining Engineer who graduated from Pedro de Valdivia University will be a professional with the ability to apply scientific knowledge to understand mining problems and identify, process and deliver competent solutions, intervening in the context of a globalized world. Thanks to his specialized knowledge and self-management of knowledge, he will be able to analyze problems in the mining sector, issue and substantiate judgments, weighing in his decisions aspects of community social participation and ethical principles in relation to current regulations. He will have the ability to join and lead work teams and to investigate and include new technologies in mining, being able to assume the direction of new projects. In this context, his comprehensive and ethical training allows him to contribute to the development and management of preventive systems, services, processes, and products, emphasizing innovation, the correct use of resources, and the protection of the environment.
