    ESL, or English as a Second Language, is an academic curriculum that focuses on developing English speaking and comprehension skills in students who do not speak it natively. Spelling, reading, writing, and vocabulary are common focus areas.

    A masters is earned after students complete an undergraduate degree program. To obtain a masters, you usually need to complete 12 to 18 college courses that often involve completing comprehensive tests and/or a thesis.
