The Master in Service Engineering adopts a T-shaped educational approach to conceive, develop, implement, and operate technology-enabled service systems, building upon the student's background (first degree) and adding cross-disciplinary competencies in-service engineering and management.

This Master Course intends to provide the adequate competences required to product optimization and innovation, by following a rather integrating approach in what concerns people, industry, society and environment. It is therefore intended to ensure specific formation in what concerns development and conception of models and products capable of providing adequate answers to demands related to market flexibility, fastness and assertiveness. Moreover, to achieve such objectives, the Course is planned to provide insight and knowledge on two core scientific areas, namely Design and Mechanical Engineering. It should also be mentioned that the latter is completed with a transversal core competence related to Project, where it is intended to consolidate the knowledge acquired within the two mentioned scientific areas, by exploring the synergies among the two thematic areas.

It is the area of ​​engineering that involves the conception, planning, design, construction and maintenance of the built environment. Through Civil Engineering we transform and adapt nature, we design and build cities/populations, transport networks, structures for energy production, water supply and sanitation networks, river and maritime protection structures, thus contributing to promoting the well-being of global society and its sustainable development.

Master in Integrated Design in Building Construction, is a postgraduate course with a duration of 2 Years/4 semesters (120 ECTS), essentially directed at students already graduated - and, even, professional activity - in the areas of Civil Engineering and Architecture, which aims to recreate, within the framework of a specialized academic training, the most efficient model of multidisciplinary development of building projects, referred as IPD Integrated Project Delivery.

The second cycle of the specialisation in Transport Engineering aims to provide a solid and comprehensive training in the conception, design, and operation of transport infrastructures, namely road, rail, air, and maritime.

Chemical Engineering involves the development of sustainable and safe Processes to convert raw materials into value-added products. In a word, “Transformation”! Thus, a Chemical Engineer is devoted to the design, development, sizing, improvement, application and operation of Processes (chemical, physical or biological) that allow the desired Products to be obtained.

A mechanical engineer is a little bit of everything, he is a football player who defends, attacks, and scores goals. Mechanical engineering covers all areas of engineering, allowing the mechanical engineer the perform function. This is key to the success of a mechanical engineer. Its pillars are mathematics and physics, enabling one to conceive, design, and manufacture cars, motorcycles, aircraft, bases, energy systems, etc. It is the engine of our society.

Master in Materials Engineering provides advanced education in materials engineering, with two fields of specialization: a more generalized education in materials and another in metallurgy. The study cycle offers a background in materials science and technology, focusing on product design, processing technologies, and characterization techniques, addressing all classes of materials in the specialization on materials and, more specifically, metallic materials in the case of the specialization in metallurgy. This is complemented with education in management and interdisciplinary competencies.

The professionals in this field are dedicated to the prevention and identification of environmental impacts, to the application of technological solutions to mitigate them, and to boosting the sustainable development of industries and societies.
