14 Building Services Master's Degree Programs

This specializing master combines the teaching units of the specializing master "Project management in construction works" with the teaching units of the specializing master "BIM Manager". BIM (Building Information Modeling) is an increasingly important tool for the correct management of the design phase, construction sites, extraordinary maintenance works, etc., regardless of the size and complexity of the intervention in question. Knowing the digitization trends of the building sector and using them wisely, aiming at better performance and higher work quality, is becoming increasingly important for project managers in the civil and infrastructure sectors. For this reason, this specializing master will offer a greater number of teaching hours (if compared to each of the two specializing masters dedicated respectively to PM and BIM) distributed both in the first semester (November-March) and in the second semester (April-October), replacing the period of internship which is not required. Each student is going to write her / his master thesis that will be delivered to the Master School and defended in order to achieve the diploma by the Politecnico di Milano.

After the first cycle of studies (license), the master's degree in “Energy efficiency of technical building installations”, EEITB adds to the skills of engineers, in-depth knowledge in the main areas of research developed in our Faculty: building energy, comfort in indoor environments, the behavior of technical building systems (ventilation, heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical installations, lighting, sanitary installations, automatic management, acoustics, air pollution and filtration systems, renewable energy sources).

The Master's degree program in Civil Engineering in Building Construction enables a complete university education in the field of civil engineering with a focus on building construction. In addition to extensive, in-depth training in building construction, students are offered elective subjects (two elective subject groups).

Master in Integrated Design in Building Construction, is a postgraduate course with a duration of 2 Years/4 semesters (120 ECTS), essentially directed at students already graduated - and, even, professional activity - in the areas of Civil Engineering and Architecture, which aims to recreate, within the framework of a specialized academic training, the most efficient model of multidisciplinary development of building projects, referred as IPD Integrated Project Delivery.

The Civil Engineering - Building Structures program is prepared as a 1.5 year master's program. It is focused on designing and implementing demanding structures of civil, industrial, engineering and transport structures. Theoretical disciplines in the field of strength and elasticity, finite element method and building dynamics are deepened.

This master's degree places special emphasis on acquiring a global vision of BIM processes from the beginning, preparing the student to face any present and future challenge. This master's degree aims to present and explore step by step the potential of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology, aimed at the projection and construction of buildings, from the initial design stages to the creation of construction models.
