10 Security MA Degree Programs

The Global Governance, Politics, and Security (GGPS) program provides students with the knowledge and analytical skills for meaningful careers in international affairs and public service. The program incorporates primary and secondary specializations in global security; multilateral diplomacy and global governance; states, society, and politics; or international economic policy.

The MA in International Peacebuilding, Security and Development Practice offers participants a unique learning opportunity to engage deeply with these issues and to develop the skills they need to address them. It draws on a range of experienced lecturers, who have extensive experience in development, peacekeeping/peace-making or security in international settings.

MA Intelligence and Security Studies focuses on how the UK has historically responded to threats to its internal security and places these issues into a historical and cultural context whilst introducing you to the conceptual tools needed for serious intellectual enquiry. This is the longest-running non-governmental postgraduate course focusing on contemporary intelligence and security issues. We have a partnership with Grey Dynamics, which is a private intelligence firm offering apolitical analysis on topics such as security, geopolitics and defence. By studying this programme you will be eligible to participate in their internship scheme.

The program objective is to provide graduates with the ability to understand the formation and conduct of the security policy in the field of international politics. Further, to provide the graduates with the competence of understanding security policy making and organizing defense matters as an integral component of the security, as well as to research independently international political processes as intersection of the state policy, security and defense issues.

Students in the MAHS: Counterterrorism Investigations program are typically interested in working for the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), or in Law Enforcement. These positions include support, analyst, and operations jobs that require knowledge of investigative techniques, working with intelligence, understanding terrorist motivations and response to terrorist incidents.
