The curriculum of the English Language and Literature Department includes the study of mythology, British society and culture, and literary genres and periods ranging from Old and Middle English to the eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first centuries.

The mission of Gazi University School of Foreign Languages is to facilitate cooperation and coordination between its two branches: Department of Modern Languages and Department of Basic Foreign Languages, and equip students studying at faculties where the medium of instruction is partly English, with oral and written communication skills as well as reading and listening skills, necessary for their academic studies.

The School of Languages, English Language Training Program (ELTP) at Antalya Bilim University (ABU) is a specially designed program for students whose first language is not English. The program offers classes that develop English skills with second language acquisition strategies in listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary. The mission of the English Language Training Program is to help our students reach their academic, vocational and personal goals.

This 2 week English programme can be delivered any time during the summer and winter seasons. It combines language learning and holiday opportunities and includes a variety of activities and project work.

The department of English Language and Literature provides advanced education in English Language and Literature by presenting students with contemporary methods, comparative approaches, and universal perspectives in linguistics and literary studies. Our Master’s Degree program at the Social Sciences Institute at Istanbul Aydın University aims at encouraging students in acquiring critical thinking, persuasive communicative skills, and a sophisticated perspective on the English language and literature. The department accepts students with a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature or other (un)related fields as long as they demonstrate English proficiency. Ones who do not qualify need to take no-credits preparatory courses at the bachelor’s degree level for at least one semester that will not count towards their Master’s degree. A total of at least 24 local credits and at least 8 courses and a seminar constitute the course work of 60 ECTS required for a master's degree program with thesis. A thesis of 60 ECTS credits is required for the completion of this 120 ECTS program. The program is modular and consists of elective courses. Students can take elective courses from other related branches as long as their advisors approve. The fact that the teaching staff of the English Language and Literature department has different backgrounds and specializations makes the program more appealing. English Language and Literature program aims at training English Language and Literature lecturers and staff and provides research opportunities for those who are academically involved.

The English Language Education Program (ELE) aims to train and educate well-qualified English language teachers with critical and creative thinking skills who could contribute to English language education practices at the local and international level.

A Bachelor's Degree Program in English Language and Literature is a 240 ECTS Credits, 4-year program. The program meets the requirements by both the ECTS credits and level descriptors of the first cycle degree qualifications of the Overarching Framework of European Qualifications Framework HE(QF-EHEA) and the 6th level qualifications of the Turkish Qualifications Framework for HE (TYYÇ, NQF-HETR). The level descriptors also meet the 6th level requirements of the qualifications of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL). Upon successful completion of this program, students are awarded the qualification of a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature.

The aim of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Georgian Language and Literature Department who has been teaching since 2015, is to educate students who will be able to research in the fields of the Georgian language, literature, folklore, and culture, to do researches about the field, to do researches and to introduce them through publications, conferences and seminars.

The English Language Education Master’s Program (with thesis) focuses on the theoretical and practical issues that impact the teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). It is designed to develop knowledge and critical understanding of recent theories and research in language acquisition and learning, and relate these to the practice of English language pedagogy.

The Department of Foreign Language Education offers a B.A. program in English Language Teaching. Taking into consideration the latest developments in the field, students are provided with a solid foundation in the English language, English literature, methodology, educational sciences and linguistics in order to make them fully qualified teachers of English in secondary schools. The Department also offers a wide selection of elective courses in literature and linguistics to students in other Faculties.

The philosophy of English Language Teaching (ELT) within the METU-SUNY International Joint Program recognizes the critical role of English as a global language and emphasizes the importance of effective language acquisition, cross-cultural communication, and linguistic competence in today's interconnected world. The objective of ELT is to provide students with a comprehensive and immersive learning experience that equips them with the language skills, cultural awareness, and communicative competence needed to succeed in diverse linguistic and cultural contexts.

The Department of English Language Teaching aims to raise teachers who have acquired an advanced level of English proficiency as well as a high level of understanding of the knowledge and skills required for the language education field.

The main object of the Japanese Language and Literature Department is to train Japanese Language and Literature undergraduates, with all the powers and responsibilities as provided by law, who have a capability of talking, writing, reading in Japanese and who can communicate with Japanese, translate Turkish-Japanese or Japanese-Turkish and who have good knowledge about Japanese culture, Japanese literature and Japanese history.
