This Master’s program is built on 5 fundamental pillars: adequate training in the English language and CEFR level B2 certification (through an official university master's degree with B2 CEFR competencies); the use of bilingual strategies and resources; the study of their underlying theories; the application of these theories during work placements in schools; and the consolidation of the acquired knowledge in the final Master’s thesis.

We offer Teacher Training courses both during the academic year and in the summer, courses that can fit your needs and interests. From Introductory courses to those focused on one single aspect of Foreign Language Teaching, such as the use of Film in the Language Classroom, or the role of multimodal learning in the use of ICTs.

The Master's Degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language: Teaching and Research prepares graduates for a booming professional career, that of being a teacher of Spanish as an Second or FL, not only in Spain but also in other countries where Spanish is not a native language. The master's degree provides the necessary basis for the scientific and rigorous study of the different aspects of Applied Linguistics to the teaching/learning of Spanish as a foreign language. The University of Valladolid has been a pioneer, for more than fifty years, in the organization of Spanish teaching courses for foreign students. Its Language Centre is in charge of managing, organizing and teaching the programs of Spanish as a foreign language. This Language Centre will serve as the seed for external internships for the students of the master's program and for job placement.

The master's degree in Training of Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language (FPELE) prepares future professionals for research and teaching in the field of Spanish as a foreign language (SFL). It provides comprehensive theoretical and practical training in the teaching of foreign languages in general and in SFL in particular, as well as introducing students to the different research areas related to the field.

The aim of the Master's Degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language is to train students to teach Spanish to speakers of other languages. It provides them with the theory and practical tools students need to teach Spanish as a foreign language at home or abroad. The program guarantees that graduates will have a thorough knowledge of Spanish and will be familiar with the most suitable techniques and methods for satisfactory teaching.

This program offers a full semester (30 ECTS credits) taught in English, focused on fostering the European key competences for teacher training in the field of primary school.
