Innovative education program
Warsaw Film School has launched a unique, undergraduate BA course, which turned out to be very popular among foreign students. We are introducing a new and innovative study program: MODERN FILMMAKING. Starting from the second year, the programme offers two specialisations: DIRECTING & AI and CINEMATOGRAPHY & AI. In the first year, all students follow the same set of core courses. After completing the first year, each student chooses one of the two specialisations to pursue in the later stages of their degree. All classes will be held in English in the adjusted workshop rooms, studios, arranged film sets at Warsaw Film School.

Bachelor’s Degree in Film Directing with Artificial Intelligence
Modern Filmmaking: Directing & AI is a contemporary film directing degree program designed for future directors who want to combine classical cinematic storytelling with artificial intelligence tools. This specialization prepares students to work as film directors, creative leaders, and visual storytellers in today’s rapidly evolving audiovisual industry.
The program focuses on directing for film, series, and new media, while integrating AI into every stage of the creative process — from story development and pre-production to post-production and experimental formats.
Graduates develop both artistic vision and technological fluency, enabling them to lead creative teams, work with actors, and design emotionally compelling narratives supported by AI-enhanced workflows.
What will you learn as a directing student?
As part of the Directing & AI program, you will gain practical and theoretical skills in:
- Film directing and visual storytelling

Program structure and methodology
The Modern Filmmaking: Directing & AI program is built around hands-on practice, collaboration, and project-based learning.
Year 1:
Students study together with peers from Cinematography & AI, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the entire filmmaking process. Joint courses emphasize teamwork, communication, and the director–cinematographer relationship.
Years 2–3:
The curriculum becomes increasingly specialized. Directing students focus on:
- advanced storytelling techniques,
- working with actors,
- scene construction and visual narration,
- AI-supported creative development (scripts, storyboards, visual research, concept testing).
Students complete multiple directing projects, developing a professional portfolio aligned with international industry standards.
