Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree

Candidates should submit official transcripts from a European undergraduate three-year initial degree or recognized equivalent at EQF/MQF (Level 6 – 180 ECTS minimum).

Foreign undergraduate bachelor’s degree from outside the Malta equivalent at EQF/MQF (Level 6 – 180 ECTS minimum) is accepted. Where transcripts are in a language other than English, candidates should submit original transcripts accompanied by approved English translation.

Proof of English Language Proficiency

Candidates should submit one of the following proofs of English language proficiency. IELTS: minimum score 6.5 or TOEFL Minimum score 81 IBT, 213 CBT, or 550 PBT. Proof of English proficiency will be waived if last degree at a school where English is the primary medium of instruction.

SEC is pleased to offer partial scholarships to qualified students (EU and non-EU international students) with tuition fee waivers of 50% or 25%. The college awards a limited number of scholarships to students every semester with eligibility based on academic achievement, financial need, group affiliation, or some combination of these factors, first-served basis.

South Europe College Admissions reviews each applicant’s request; all application documents submitted are taken into consideration for acceptance. Students must meet all eligibility criteria at the time of acceptance, which is based on academic achievement, financial need, group affiliation, or some combination of these factors, first-served basis.

Core academic performance is used to determine scholarship extension eligibility. Scholarship students must maintain a minimum mark of ‘B’ in all enrolled courses to be eligible for a scholarship renewal. The college will renew scholarships automatically every semester based on how the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.

Global Recognition

SEC Programmes are assessed and accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) and pegged to the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF). Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) deems the graduation certificates of South Europe College to be at MQF Level 7 (90 ECTS) of the Malta Qualification Framework and the European Qualifications Framework. All SEC qualifications are recognised by the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework to facilitate academic recognition of SEC qualifications abroad.

South Europe College is recognised by WES to provide academic credential evaluations for international students planning to study or work in the U.S. & Canada. WES is an accredited charter member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC), which has been approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
