Established in 2002 at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), the Master’s Program in Media and Communication at Universitas Airlangga is a distinguished center for advanced media studies, holding a prestigious "A" grade accreditation from BAN-PT. The program is specifically designed to cultivate scholars and practitioners with high-level professional capabilities in planning, managing, and critically evaluating the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Students can specialize in either Digital Media Studies or Corporate Digital Communication, gaining the expertise necessary to occupy strategic leadership roles in broadcasting management, public relations, and marketing. Driven by a vision to align with international standards, the curriculum integrates the latest communication technologies with a strong foundation in religious morality, pluralism, and social justice.

Graduates emerge as innovative and open-minded experts, capable of formulating creative solutions for complex communication phenomena and providing impactful leadership in both the academic and industrial media sectors on a global scale.

Mission

  • Realizing the Master’s Program in Media and Communication as a center for implementing the tridharma (education, research, community service) and the development of superior Media and Communication Studies based on the latest technology and morality.
  • Educating students to be capable of analyzing, formulating innovatively, being open-minded, critical, and capable of elaborating on communication phenomena and media studies, as well as providing alternatives for solving communication problems existing in society.
