Key Summary
Entrepreneurship majors are experimenters, risk-takers, and innovators, ready to explore and develop opportunities to create something new. Our Entrepreneurship curriculum challenges students like you to develop a business or product from the ground up as you explore the next generation of business ideas and methods. You’ll learn a solid core of global business skills, professional development, and presentation, complemented by coursework in sales, marketing, finance, and human resources.
A History of Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship has been at the heart of Nichols College since we were founded by Amasa Nichols in 1815. Industrialists, sports moguls, shop owners, bankers, investors, and global professionals all started their businesses right here on the hill while earning their degrees. These adventurous entrepreneurs provide vital employment to their communities, and we’re proud to support the next generation of dreamers with new opportunities to learn, develop, and build.
Unique Classes
The Bison Business Challenge is one of our most fun team-based learning experiences. Focused on the core components of entrepreneurship while creating an exciting, engaging learning opportunity, this competitive class engages students in high-impact practice with projects, presentations, and cases studies.
Experience is key to the entrepreneur major’s journey, which is why we give ample time and opportunity to students looking to fine-tune their business ideas by working alongside startups and established businesses with internships and real-life consulting projects.
And having been ranked a 2022 Best College in the Northeast by the Princeton Review and eighth nationally for Mid-Career Salary Potential by Payscale.com, the value of a Nichols College education is indisputable.
Internships & Experiential Learning
Every Nichols College student benefits from an experiential learning opportunity. Students explore their passions by working with real businesses, community partners, or industry experts on projects that make an impactful difference. Because of our specialized focus on career readiness, students graduate with the experience and confidence they need to succeed in the real world.
Seventeen EPS Students competed in Entrepreneurial pitch competitions. Twenty-two students completed the Student Advanced Selling Simternship.

Merit Scholarships
Academically-based merit scholarships are awarded to qualified, full-time, incoming students for the 2025-2026 academic year who displayed academic excellence in high school. Amounts awarded are determined by a combination of factors including but not limited to SAT scores, cumulative GPA, and extracurricular activities. These merit scholarships are awarded as each application is processed, and the FAFSA is not required for consideration of these awards. Merit scholarships are fully renewable as long as students maintain satisfactory academic progress while studying at Nichols. Students must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher and continue to be enrolled full-time while completing 12 credit hours or more per semester.
| Scholarship | Amount | GPA Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| President’s Scholarship | $25,000 | 3.50 and above |
| Provost’s Scholarship | $23,000 | 3.00 – 3.49 |
| Dean’s Scholarship | $21,000 | 2.50 – 2.99 |
| Faculty Award | $16,000 | 2.00 – 2.49 |
Financial Aid
Nichols requires only one financial aid form for applying for financial aid: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). FAFSA information determines your eligibility for all federal, state, and institutional need-based financial aid.
The priority deadline for submitting the FAFSA each year for fall admission is March 15th. All requested documents must be received by June 1st. Meeting these deadlines helps ensure consideration for limited sources of State, Federal, and Institutional Aid programs. Be aware that most states, including Massachusetts, have a priority deadline of May 1st for state scholarship eligibility. Late applicants are usually ineligible for state funds. Those who fail to meet the priority deadline may still apply any time during the award year.
