Key Summary
BA (Hons) Musical Theatre
Our BA (Hons) Musical Theatre programme is designed for performers who aspire to work in the global market.
Our three-year undergraduate degree builds on the strengths of every student by exploring your individual qualities, tailoring your training accordingly and providing you with the employable skills demanded by today’s international musical theatre industry.
The IAB offers a limited number of scholarships each year. These are awarded to new students only and may be awarded for any of the IAB’s programmes. Scholarships will be offered to students identified by the faculty as having the potential to make a significant contribution to the development of the performing arts.
You therefore cannot apply for a scholarship.
A scholarship constitutes a reduction in fees, rather than a full fee waiver.
For more information about scholarship, please visit the institute website.
We like to treat every student as an individual, developing your abilities whilst ensuring you have a strong, broad foundation training in musical theatre. To ensure proper individual training, we stream our musical theatre students through two pathways: singing extension and dance extension.
You will obtain most of the same training in both pathways, the key difference will be the order in which you take the classes.
Our core Musical Theatre degree spans seven main modules: Acting, Dance, Singing, Musical theatre ensemble, Professional studies, Contextual studies and Production.
- Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Musical Theatre
- Credit Value: 360 UK credits, equivalent to 180 ECTS
If your ambition is to continue with your studies, this degree, recognised internationally, will allow you to progress to further postgraduate/Master’s degree studies at IAB or throughout Europe, the USA and beyond.
How Do We Prepare You for the Industry?
- By hosting dedicated industry week filled with international agents and casting director workshops and auditions
- You will graduate with a professionally filmed reel showcasing your best work
