The textile sector has recently highlighted the need for new professional figures whose skills and knowledge can connect and create a dialogue between the creative and strategic functions and the technical and production roles. The aim of the Masters Program in Textile Design is to train professionals with such characteristics. The program offers cultural, technological, strategic, and design knowledge in the textile sector and provides collaborations with experts and companies of the world-renowned textile district of Como.
At the end of the course, the students can supervise and coordinate the design and production phases of textile products, do research, interpret market trends, develop innovative projects that respect the tradition and the values of sustainability and traceability, and create communication and marketing strategies. They can enter the work market as a textile product manager, raw materials/textile buyer and account manager, textile sourcing manager, fabric operations manager, or fabric researcher.

Ideal Students
The Master in Textiles is aimed at graduates in Fashion Design or Designers working in the field who need to develop their know-how using contemporary approaches in textile research and design.
Methodology and structure
The course works as a creative laboratory that guides participants to the progressive acquisition of a clear project development methodology applied to the Made in Italy know-how.
Traditional lectures, workshops, and laboratory sessions are structured in parallel in order to allow participants to be aligned to same cultural and creative design tools. Students deal with the different phases of the design process, consisting of experimental and interactive workflows. During all the projects, participants are supported by Project Leader. In parallel, a series of nurture courses which support projects through concept, creation, and realization, is aimed at fostering the personal and professional growth of each student and of the whole team. Conferences, seminars, and on-site visits give students the opportunity to come face to face with industry professionals and important figures in the textile field. Results of the Final Project are presented at the end of the course to a commission consisting of industry professionals and experts.

At the end of the Master’s course, students can join the world of work as a textile product manager, raw materials/textile buyer and account manager, textile sourcing manager, fabric operations manager or fabric researcher at specialist companies; specifically, the skills acquired will allow them to present themselves as qualified professional figures in the field of textile product design and supervision, coordination of design and production phases applied research, and interpreting and analyzing trends and sustainability.
