Key Summary
Psychology is the scientific study of human behaviour and mental processes. As a student of psychology, you will gain invaluable insights into the human condition and explore the phenomena of language, learning, development, personality, and memory. Psychology provides you with not only a wide breadth of knowledge, but also depth, developing and refining skills such as research and analytical assessments, how to communicate with all types of individuals, and how to create practical applications that can enhance the overall human experience.
Our 3-year Psychology degree program provides broad foundational knowledge, enabling students/graduates to be more authoritative thinkers and more qualified users of psychological theory and research, while deepening their insights into their own and others' behaviour. Insights into human behaviour, thoughts, and emotions are valuable in many career paths, including social services, business, law, and education.
When you come to Concordia University of Edmonton, you will master the skills, garner the knowledge, and create the connections you need to secure a job, discover the world, and build your future. Our students have been accepted into top graduate programs.
Studies in psychology can complement studies in many other fields. Many students completing our 3-year Psychology degree proceed to our B.Ed. After Degree, on their pathway to becoming educators.
Additionally, our 3-year Psychology degree provides an introduction to statistics and research methods, which can be valuable in many careers and in life itself.
Please note: Students considering graduate studies in Psychology, either research-focused or clinical/counselling-focused, are strongly encouraged to consider one of our 4-year Psychology degree programs.
