The German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) and the University of Brescia in Italy collaborate to deliver the Master of Engineering in Industrial Production & Manufacturing (MEng IPM) at GUtech campus in Oman. This BEng Energy Engineering is underpinned by “Sustainability” and “Technology” where the curriculum is designed systematically to provide students with a broad understanding of sustainability in various aspects related to Energy and particularly on decarbonizing the Energy sector. In addition, the aim is to provide students with state of the are Technology required for the 4IR where digitalization and Artificial Intelligence are the major part of the Energy industry to improve efficiency and develop new renewables and their applications such as electric vehicles.

This program is designed to provide the students with comprehensive knowledge in different aspects of software engineering: analysis and specification of requirements, specification of programs, program development, software quality management, software projects management, documentation, examination, and management of software configurations, as well as some practical directions of the software development including those that occur in huge and complicated systems. Our graduates are strong candidates for public and private organizations inside or outside the Sultanate in the careers of Computer software applications engineer, Computer software system engineer, Software solution developer, Software project manager, Software designer, Software analyst, Computer support specialist.

The student should complete the coursework requirements specified in the degree plan with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00. For the thesis, the candidate is required to conduct the necessary literature review, undertake the research, analyze the results, write the report and communicate the results at an oral defense. This work need not necessarily be original research but should be a new application of ideas. The student should identify the research problem in consultation with the supervisor, which normally takes place in the second semester. The student should or can register for the thesis in the third semester after having completed at least 12 credits of the course work.

The Bachelor of Science in Health and Safety Management provides a flexible, relevant, and current curriculum that includes opportunities for students to gain knowledge in health and safety theory and practice, which are necessary in order to function at a professional level within the modern workplace. The curriculum demonstrates a combination of technical and managerial aspects necessary to design, develop and implement health and safety management systems whilst considering environmental impacts and aspects.
