The Master of Science in Electrical Engineering aims at forming highly-qualified professionals able to face complex design problems and foster technological innovation in the field of electrical power systems.

The Master of Science in Electrical Engineering aims to train professionals with a strong background in the theoretical and practical aspects of the main subjects that characterize electrical engineering. Graduates have to be able to identify, understand, frame and solve complex issues.

The master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering aims to train highly qualified professionals able to manage complex design problems and foster technological innovation in the field of electrical power systems. It provides a solid background in the domains of power electronics and electrical drives, electrical machine and apparatus design, engineering electromagnetic and electromagnetic compatibility, measurement and diagnostic techniques, and digital signal processing. Students also develop specific skills in the areas of electrical energy and renewable sources, electrical systems in transportation, and electrical system design and automation.

The Master’s Degree Course in Electric Vehicle Engineering (EVE) is designed for students who want to become electrical engineers, capable of developing and integrating the electrical energy systems of different types of electric vehicles.

Electrical Vehicle Engineering (EVE) is an international master’s degree conveying in-depth knowledge in electric components technologies and their integration in electric vehicles.

The Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer, Communications, and Electronic Engineering combines three major disciplines in the Information Engineering area: Computer Engineering, Information and Communications Engineering, and Electronic Engineering. The program shares an interdisciplinary core of subjects and provides two curricula, one in Italian and one taught in English. 

The 2026 edition of the Summer School Enabling Technologies for Industrial Internet of Things (ET-I2oT 2026) is organized to provide 6 ECTS (about 52 hours of front lessons) in the fields of Electronics, RFID, Sensors, Networking, Web of Things, SW for IoT, Computer Engineering, targeting on one side an audience of Bachelor (last year), Master and PhD students, and on the other side early stage researchers and practitioners from Academia or Industry. Both HW and SW aspects of IoT will be presented and discussed during the school.

Electricity is the key factor of sustainable development. The challenges of energy and the decarbonisation of production processes, as well as the electrification of transport, place electrical systems and digital control systems at the basis of any solution to overcome polluting technologies based on combustion. Through lessons, seminars, technical visits and internships in collaboration with the best production and research companies in the sector, at the University of Trieste we learn how electrical systems and digital control systems allow the growing use of renewable sources , converting them into electricity.

The master's degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering (Class LM-32, Computer Engineering) provides theoretical, methodological, experimental and applicative knowledge and skills in the fundamental areas of ICT Engineering (Information & Communication Technologies), which are respectively the electronics, computing, robotics, artificial intelligence, telecommunications and Internet-of-Things. This knowledge and skills constitute the conceptual basis that allows the master's graduate of this class to carry out the design and development of the variety of systems used in the management and processing of data and in the design and implementation of the applications required by today's society of Information, in order to organise, manage, process, access and transmit information and knowledge, also taking into account aspects relating to security.

The energy crisis that was triggered by the Russian war in Ukraine has led European power markets to unprecedented levels of prices and stress. It has also led to wide ranging policy interventions and calls for reforms of the wholesale electricity market design. The course gathers a group of senior practitioners to discuss and share experiences about both the economic and political forces that drive the debate on the evolution of power and carbon markets to enable and support the decarbonisation of the power sector.
