The School of Engineering’s Ph.D. in Electronic Science and Technology program trains doctoral students in cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and technology and actively recruits top talent from around the world.

The BEng Electrical Engineering programme will equip you with a fundamental understanding of electrical engineering theory and the ability to solve engineering problems relating to power generation, transmission, distribution, control, protection and consumption.

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering

Electrical engineering is a subject that studies the generation, transmission, transformation, and control of electric power involving its theory, method, technology, and application in engineering. It combines electrical theory, electronic technology, control theory, and information technology together. The field of electrical engineering at ZZULI covers all the sub-regions in electrical engineering, i.e. electric machines and electric devices, power systems and automation, power electronics and electric drives, high voltage and insulation technology, electrical theory, and new technology. The research work in the Department of Electrical Engineering at ZZULI is connected with many labs and research centers, such as the Henan Key Lab of Information-based Electrical Appliances (approved by the government of Henan Province), the Zhengzhou Engineering Center (approved by the municipal government of Zhengzhou), the Dynamic Simulation Lab of Power System, and the New Energy Lab. All of them are affiliated with ZZULI. The teaching staff in Dept. EE is professional and outstanding. Currently, there are 19 full-time teachers, 7 of them are professors, 16 of them hold Ph.D. degrees, one is awarded as the National Role-Model, and 5 are elected as the Provincial Chief Academic Leaders of key discipline.

This program is to train students to be high-quality engineering and managerial personnel competent in the fields of electrical-engineering-related equipment manufacture.

This program nurtures high-quality technical talents with broad adaptability, capabilities of such job fields related to electrical engineering, including systems operation, automatic control, power electronic technology, information processing, experimental analysis research and development, and Business Administration.

This major is to cultivate applied talents of engineering technology with all-round development of morality, intelligence and physique, solid theoretical foundation and strong ability of practice and innovation so that students can engage in system operation, automatic control, power electronics technology, relay protection, experimental analysis and research and development in the field of electrical engineering.

The Mechanical-Electronic Engineering program of B.I.T. is an interdisciplinary program based on machinery manufacturing, electrical engineering, and computer science.

The electrical engineering and automation major has been recruiting undergraduates since 2010, and it is a school-level key major. Among the full-time teachers, more than 80% have a Ph.D. or a master's degree. 1 provincial-level outstanding teacher, 4 school-level outstanding teachers. The teacher team of the college was awarded the title of Advanced Collective of Teachers' Ethics in Heilongjiang Province.

The program, with information and communication engineering, electronic science and technology, computer science and technology as key subjects, fosters special talents with professional knowledge in electronic information engineering, electromagnetic field and microwave technology, signal and information processing, circuits and systems, who can work in research, design, manufacture, and operation in the field of information technology, or in the information technology research and equipment development in the departments of national economy and national defense industry.

The Department of Electronic Engineering has a history of more than 50 years, and its former specialties were semiconductor, radio wave and electronics. With the growing population of both undergraduate and postgraduate students, the department now has a rapid development and covers the disciplines of microelectronic, solid state electronics, optoelectronics, circuits & systems, sensors & actuators. The department looks forward to challenge ahead and becomes more competitive in the university system.

The MRes Low Carbon Electrical Power and Energy Technology programme provides you with advanced and systematic education and training in the areas of electronic science and technology.

Since September 2020, SBC and USST offer students a fantastic and unique opportunity to earn both a British bachelor degree and a Chinese bachelor degree.

The course is a three-year honours degree, preparing you for a professional career in electronic systems design. The course has been designed especially for candidates without the usual qualifications in Mathematics and physics to pursue their interest in electronics and electronic systems to the degree level.
