The Department of Transportation, Logistics, and Finance offers a Ph.D. degree in Transportation and Logistics. The degree is awarded through the College of Business in collaboration with the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute. The program takes an interdisciplinary approach to transportation and supply chain and attracts students with backgrounds in supply chain management, transportation, agribusiness, applied economics, civil engineering, construction management, emergency management, finance, geosciences, and industrial/manufacturing engineering.

The aim of the doctoral study programme is to prepare Doctors of Sciences, researchers and specialists of the highest qualification in the Telematics and Logistics sub-field, providing the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for the independent scientific research work and pedagogical work. The objective of the Ph.D. in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is to develop scholars who generate and disseminate new knowledge by conducting high-quality research and teach at the university level. The Ph.D. program is delivered via traditional coursework and other research initiatives with faculty in the Parker College of Business.
