Lesley University’s minor in Game Design & Immersive Technologies allows students from any department to acquire fundamental skills in this exciting and innovative field while also gaining experience in a specific area of specialty by choosing from a selection of concentration-based courses. Two introductory courses in game design and mechanics form the foundation of the minor, after which students can choose from three additional courses in Game Art, Game Design, Virtual Production, or Game Audio.

CCS’s Game Design emphasis provides tools for visual storytellers to compete in one of the world’s fastest growing industries. Game Design students explore the entire game design pipeline, from concept to execution. Using both traditional drawing techniques and CGI tools, you’ll ideate and build both 2D and 3D assets to produce immersive gameplay experiences across mobile, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) platforms, as well as realistic environments and assets for game, film and animation.

Covering areas such as esports history, analytics and administration, programming, and game design and development, this minor will prepare you to create your own video game or coach an esports team. It pairs well with most degrees at Trine, allowing you to explore your interests in gaming while studying in the program of your choice. The Game Design and Esports program at Trine University is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the rapidly growing fields of game design, development, and esports management. University Transfer Programme: Product Design – Applied Immersive Game Design is the equivalent to the first year of your undergraduate Product Design degree. Upon completing the program, you will be eligible to progress to the second year of the Bachelor of Product Design degree at the University of Canterbury.

This program Animation and Game Development allows students to connect with their passion of playing video games and watching computer-generated media and animation by challenging students with cutting-edge development for a variety of mediums.

This course is ideal for learners to gain the skills and knowledge to progress into a career in the games industry. Over the two years learners will work on a range of game projects using industry standard software to develop creative and technical skills and will be able to specialise in either Game Art or Game Development. This course is equivalent to three A Levels and you will achieve a BTEC Extended Diploma.

Game production is predominantly about imagining and building entire worlds and their inhabitants from scratch and devising immersive experiences that can run and adapt to the demands of user play in real-time.
