Introduction to Construction Materials and Calorimetry course will teach you about characterization techniques and how to investigate material failures in construction. The other part of this course is about calorimetry, which is the process of measuring the amount of heat released or absorbed during a chemical reaction. By knowing the change in heat, it can be determined whether or not a reaction is exothermic (releases heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat).

The Chemistry department is located in Beemon Hall on the Raymond Campus. The department offers a variety of courses and corresponding labs to meet the needs of all academic majors.
