24 Applied Sciences BSc Degree Programs

The BSc (Common Entry) was designed as a common entry course for the student who has a keen interest in science, but is unsure of which area they would like to specialise in. This gives a variety of scientific disciplines, to keep their options open when applying to study science at third level.

Biotechnology—creating technology or products from cellular and biomolecular processes, often DNA technology—is one of the fastest-growing and innovative scientific sectors. You will learn about the use of biotechnology in areas such as health care, veterinary medicine, agriculture, and the environment.

General Science teaches students a broad range of academic disciplines, with a focus on physical and biological sciences, as well as mathematical concepts. Faculty and staff encourage students to select courses based on their interests with a specialization in two to three areas. The Department of General Studies offers a 3-year Bachelor of Science to students.
