The School of Materials Science and Engineering, Yancheng Institute of Technology was founded in 1979. In 1993, the silicate technology major was the first batch of pilot programs for higher engineering teaching reform. In 1996, the major of materials science and engineering began to recruit undergraduates. In 2006, it was awarded the "Specialty of Jiangsu Province".
