However, the future of this supply lies in renewable energies such as wind power, geothermal energy, or solar energy. As a student of Energy Systems Engineering, as an engineer for energy systems technology and deal with energy generation, conversion, storage, use and transport. You will learn through practical and theoretical instruction to explore the technical and economic aspects of current energy systems, to gain in-depth cross-sectional expertise in the supply, integration, and storage of future energy systems.

The Bachelor's Programme in Energy Technology focuses on the most efficient, environmentally friendly production and distribution of a basic element in our daily well-being: energy and its related technologies.

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) performs cutting-edge research and provides professional education in energy- and environment-related issues. Students start with a common year of foundation study.

The goal of the Tokyo Tech Academy of Energy and Informatics is to develop Multi-Scope･Energy WISE Professionals who will help realize a sustainable, human-centric energy society free of usage constraints such as costs and CO2 emissions. This will involve using tools for the intelligent use of energy, such as AI-based big data analysis. After mastering multidisciplinary energy science, these individuals will transform and design this new energy society using big data science and their social design skills. We will achieve this through the Tokyo Tech Academy of Energy and Informatics program. Developing Multi-Scope･Energy WISE Professionals will enhance the quality of Tokyo Tech’s research in the field of Integrated Energy Science, one of our primary fields, as well as develop WISE Professionals capable of succeeding in the field. Achieving these two ends will also help us attain the goal of our Designated National University proposal, which is to drive Tokyo Tech’s research quality to world-leading levels. This is why Tokyo Tech is devoting all its resources to cultivating and sending out Multi-Scope･Energy WISE Professionals into the world.

The department was established in 2010 as Green Energy Science and Technology with a four-year university program. This department is envisioned to develop advanced technologies for energy efficiency with market-sited green energy, and affordable energy systems to match up the demands of engineering skills as well as focusing on solar power, LED devices, bio-fuels, and hydrogen energies, fuel cell and etc. In addition, the department is specially established to aim to improve energy efficiency in end-use sectors and to increase the diversity of energy resources consistent with an economically and environmentally sustainable future.
