12 Directing Bachelors Degree Programs

Thi program blends academic theory with practical skills to equip students with the comprehensive knowledge they need in order to find a job in the competitive field of film and games industry. Students learn the professional skills necessary to become a film or video games director. Students will work on each others' productions with different crews, directors, cinematographers, actors, producers, game designers and receive a practical experience that helps to prepare upon entering the film and video game industry. Each student makes 4 films /exercises during the academic year plus the end of year film, all in close cooperation with other students of different specialization. Teamwork and cooperation are our fundamentals.

After successful completion of their sophomore year, students in the 120-credit B.F.A. in Theatre Arts: Acting program or the B.A. in Theatre Arts program, with the appropriate prerequisites, may elect to apply to pursue a concentration in either directing or playwriting. Transfer students who wish to apply for this option may be required to take additional preparatory coursework.

Graduates who have mastered the educational programs of the bachelor's degree - "Directing," can hold positions in the field of culture, education, film, and television industry in accordance with the "Qualification handbook of positions of managers, specialists, and other employees."

This 4th year allows you to learn the profession of director through courses and exercises in scriptwriting, technical cutting, directing actors and filming supervised by professionals.

The professional activity of bachelor's graduates can be carried out in cultural and art organizations, educational institutions, theaters, film studios, television, design studios, fashion houses, art workshops, foundations, creative associations, and unions.

Drama and film director is an art major based on Sichuan Film's application-oriented talent training experience and in line with the society's wide-ranging demand for film and television creative talents. It focuses on cultivating high-quality applied talents with sound theories, practical skills, and multiple capabilities. The major aims to train filmmakers in the new era, grow up in the era of media, walk through it freely, gain a higher vision, and build a passion for visual art and narrative art, so as to use excellent film and television works to reflect the social outlook and promote the spirit of the times.
