The Illustration program at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) combines the traditional arts such as painting, drawing, and printmaking with the fascination of contemporary design using modern, digital techniques. Illustrations visualize complex content in newspapers, magazines, infographics, advertisements, posters, websites, and apps. They tell stories in picture books and comics and create entire films or virtual worlds in storyboards and concept art.

The Visual Arts Major offers a multidisciplinary education in the arts with advanced study in one specialization such as drawing and painting. To begin your studies, you can take courses in art history, art and technology, 3-D modeling and animation, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture and video.

ARTISTIC PRACTICE An introduction to painting and graphic design marks the beginning. In the further course, your artistic work and work development are in focus. The work results are critically discussed in the plenary. In the colloquia, you will practice constructively dealing with individual artistic goals. The artistic work is supported by workshop courses on painting techniques and printmaking methods.

This course equips you with a range of practical theatre craft skills including prop making, scenery building and scenic painting. Skills that will enable you to pursue a career in theatre, film, television, museum displays, and themed attractions. This course will develop your prop making, scenery construction and scenic painting skills.

Majors work towards the development of a cohesive body of work that demonstrates a distinctive personal style. The program emphasizes the mastery of a broad range of fundamental skills, with a focused experience in one technique or medium. Majors are well versed in historical and contemporary art and are given numerous opportunities to exhibit their work, travel, and receive feedback from faculty and peers.

Visual arts are a necessary and vital part of contemporary society. The Louisiana Christian University Art Department trains students to have a positive Christian impact on society by providing a serious study of the visual arts in all its forms and contexts so that they may more fully dialogue with the professional art world. A series of studio, lecture, and seminar courses provide a learning environment for students which nurtures their technical and philosophical skills in a distinctively Christian and academically rigorous environment. The Department of Art & Design’s bachelor of fine arts (BFA) 87-credit program is for students who want to become professional artists and who wish to pursue their specific professional goals within the stimulating intellectual climate of Rutgers University.
