6 General BA Degree Programs

This is an interdisciplinary major designed primarily for students who desire a broad, multidisciplinary general education in the best tradition of the liberal arts and who wish to avoid the specialization of a major field. (Note: these requirements are for those students majoring in Liberal Studies only, not for those students majoring in both Liberal Studies and Education.)

AIC’s International Studies program offers a multidisciplinary analysis of the politics, geography, economics, and history of societies around the world. For students looking for a global perspective that balances breadth and depth, this program is your entry into the world of international affairs.

The Bachelor of Arts is conferred upon students who have satisfactorily completed a minimum of 120 semester hours of academic work, and is offered only through the part-time evening program. This program is designed to meet two major objectives:  to provide students with a solid introduction to the liberal arts and to allow students (through judicious use of their electives) the flexibility to combine those studies with their vocational or avocational interests.

This degree uniquely positions you to explore some of the world’s most pressing problems while preparing for a career with an international focus: in business, diplomacy, policy development, and for advocacy in a global civil society.

The B.A. degree Biological Sciences is provided for the student who has a general interest in the biological sciences but who does not plan to pursue advanced work in graduate school or undertake professional achievements in biological sciences.

Our Liberal Arts program is largely self-designed. This program qualifies you to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree qualification that you design for exactly the skills you need and what you want to learn. It enables you to develop knowledge and understanding within and across specific subject areas that, along with the Soft Skills, can be transferred anywhere, anytime. It is a combination of learning, self-reflection, and social impact.
