The Vilnius Archcathedral Basilica and the Town Hall, designed in the 18th century by Laurynas Gucevičius, quickly became symbols of the city. As the most famous Lithuanian architect of his time, Gucevičius introduced a new direction in architecture - classicism based on interpretations of antique architecture heritage - and createdthe classicistic face of the city. While these two buildings were only two of many in the center of Vilnius, they clearly demonstrated the architect's ideas on social equality during the epoch of Enlightenment.

Engineers must adhere to building sustainability standards (such as BREEAM, LEED, and LEVELs) and ensure that buildings are comfortable, energy-efficient, meet the highest energy class, and have the least possible negative environmental impact. MSc Structural and Building Products Engineering offers top-level studies, that focus on training your intellectual curiosity and on developing a complex, broad approach towards construction engineering. At KTU, we educate engineers to not only acquire existing knowledge but also to develop new expertise on innovative technologies, to solve problems in the field of construction, to implement real-world projects.

The doctoral programme corresponds to the main fields of research: increase of the energy efficiency of buildings, designing and researches of building’s constructions, development and research of new building materials, construction technology and management.

Study programme aim is to educate a highly qualified structural engineer for engineering activity, creative decision-making, complicated problems of designing solving, behavior assessing and strengthening of building structures.

Cities face growing challenges related to climate change, limited resources, and rapid technological change. Sustainable Intelligent Habitats master’s study programme prepares students to design smarter, greener, and more resilient urban systems by combining sustainability engineering with the Internet of Things (IoT), and data-driven decision-making.

The aims of the study programme Civil Engineering are: to educate the specialist of structural engineering, who can plan his/her activities, organize and technically supervise the performed works of construction and work in the competitive labour market; to train a specialist having creative thinking, able to work in a team and make individual decisions, responsible for the results of his/her activities, striving to develop in his/her professional area.
