10 On-Campus Accounting, Taxation and Audit Master's Degree Programs in Africa

This interdisciplinary master's Program, offered in English only, is aimed at developing capacity in the areas of tax policy, governance and administration and is focused on attracting students from the public sector

The purpose of the MCom in South African and International Taxation is to develop applied specialized competencies in the mastering, interpretation, understanding, analysis, and application of taxation principles in the taxation field. Through a limited scope dissertation, a qualifying student should show evidence of independent and original scientific work.

The purpose of the Master of Commerce in International Accounting is to develop graduates to become specialists in this field. Developments in the international accounting field, including developments in digital accounting, accounting theory, and empirical accounting will be studied, and graduates will be prepared to conduct research culminating in a minor dissertation.

The purpose of the MCom in Accounting is to develop applied specialized competencies in the mastering, interpretation, understanding, analysis, and application of accounting principles in the financial accounting field. A qualifying student should show evidence of independent and original scientific work through the master’s dissertation.

This Program aims to provide tax professionals with advance knowledge of South African taxes and relevant tax topics as they arise from contemporary business or other transactions.

The purpose of the MCom in Auditing is to develop applied specialized competencies in the mastering, interpretation, understanding, analysis, and application of auditing principles in the auditing field. A qualifying student should show evidence of independent and original scientific work through the master’s dissertation.

The purpose of the MCom in Computer Auditing is to develop applied specialized competencies in the mastering, interpretation, understanding, analysis, and application of computer auditing principles in the computer auditing field. A qualifying student should show evidence of independent and original scientific work through a minor dissertation.

The MCom in International Tax programme objective is for students to acquire knowledge about the analysis and interpretation of double tax conventions using recognized model conventions as a base and their interaction with South African income tax, as well as problem solving skills based on practical examples of application of these frameworks. Students who are working in an international tax environment while pursuing this programme, would derive the most benefit therefrom

The MS program - Specialty Audit, Control, and Finance in an international environment offers a high-level specialization in audit, management control, and Finance, deepening the international dimension. Combining academic training and professional practices, these programs aim to train competent executives in audit, control, and Finance in an international environment.

This program trains future executive managers and corporate executives of businesses and organizations specializing in all business areas related to both internal and external control processes.
