Introduction
Master’s Degree Program in Dance Performance
The Master’s Degree Program in Dance Performance allows you to develop as an artist and performer with a personal voice in relation to the society and its changing views of art.
The core of the studies is versatile research in the practices of a performer in the frameworks of dance art and other similar art forms. Students complete thematic studies and artistic projects in dance art, contextual studies giving background to contemporary performance and dancer’s work, as well as individual studies. The thesis project consists of an artistic and a written component.
As a student, you will develop as a solo performer and as an active, reflective member of an artistic team. The studies will support your development as an artist and a performer with a personal voice in relation to the changing society and its changing views of art and humanity.

Program Outcome
Target degree - Master’s Degree in Arts (Dance)
A master’s degree gives eligibility to complete a Doctor of Arts (Dance) degree, for example, as a third-cycle degree. Doctoral studies in dance are offered by the Performing Arts Research Centre (Tutke).
