Introduction

Social and Public Policy is an exciting new opportunity for young people who want to make a difference in today’s world. After its formal acceptance by authorities of the University of Warsaw (see Contact Us), this program will equip students with essential skills and knowledge in political science, social policy, and public policy, and provide them with an understanding of contemporary social and political issues and their determinants.

The program begins with courses that provide students with knowledge of the major processes in the contemporary world (environmental, economic, political, historical, and social) and the way they are analyzed (using qualitative and quantitative methods) in the first year, followed by courses on designing policy programs that should be created in response to these processes in the second year, and finally courses on implementing these programs in the third year.

The program is designed for students interested in the experiences and perspectives of countries undergoing turbulent social change, as the curriculum considers the problems and experiences of such countries. This approach ensures that students learn about contemporary political processes, mechanisms of creating social inequalities, demographic changes, and cultural transformations. Overall, this program prepares students to design and conduct social research and equips them with the skills and knowledge to positively impact their communities, countries, regions, or organizations.

Upon completion of the Bachelor’s degree in Social and Public Policy, graduates will have various career options open to them. They will have the skills and knowledge necessary to work in various roles in the public and private sectors, as well as in non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and international organizations. Graduates can work in a variety of fields related to social and public policy, including public policy analysis, public administration, community development, education, and health care. They may also pursue further education, such as a master’s or doctoral degree, to deepen their knowledge and expertise in an area of interest. Overall, program graduates will be well-equipped to pursue rewarding and meaningful careers in various fields.
