Introduction
The Bachelor in Spanish Philology programme is open to candidates with no Spanish proficiency. Learning of the Spanish language shall commence upon the student’s admission.
The program offers students the solid written and spoken communication skills required for workplace success in Spanish (C1), as well as a knowledge of the fundamentals of Spanish linguistics, literature and the culture of Spanish-speaking countries. The curriculum includes a diverse range of course units that are designed to help students develop their language skills, including the advanced writing, speaking and research skills needed to become successful.
The students will also acquire a range of soft skills by cultivating their analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving and rhetorical abilities, while gaining a knowledge of culture and history, which will allow them to understand the complex modern world of today.

Program Outcome
Graduates of the Spanish Philology study programme can:
- Communicate in Spanish at an advanced level (C1), as well as use Spanish for Specific Purposes and Academic Spanish skills (writing reports, reviews, research papers and texts in other genres)
- Analyse, synthesise, summarise and discuss the main principles underlying the structure and uses of language
- Show an awareness of the different frameworks of literary and cultural theory, and apply them in the analysis of literary texts
- Interpret the historical and cultural backgrounds of Spanish-speaking countries
- Carry out linguistic/literary research
Career Opportunities
- Successful careers in the local and global labour markets.
- Employment in the fields of teaching, translation, tourism, logistics, public relations, research, content creation or marketing, as well as working for foreign embassies, government and European Union institutions, etc.
