Introduction
Laboratory Biomedicine (2 Years)
The master study program Laboratory Biomedicine at the University of Ljubljana is conducted in the Slovenian language and all candidates must demonstrate a knowledge of the Slovene language at the level of “B2” according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) with the relevant certificate, before enrolment. The program Laboratory Biomedicine is provided to train skilled professionals for analytical jobs in medical laboratories of different specific fields within laboratory biomedicine, in research institutions and in laboratory medicine related fields of activity, such as agencies, industry and national authorities. Graduates will be qualified to independently follow new findings and use them in the field of laboratory biomedicine, and adapt to the requirements of laboratory diagnostics. They will also gain applicative knowledge from the fields of research work and management fundamentals, administration and legislation. The program provides the basics for lifelong technical training. Graduates will be qualified to continue their studies in the doctoral program Biomedicine or in laboratory oriented specializations (e.g. medicinal biochemistry).
