Introduction
History and Philosophy
The main purpose of this interclass course is to integrate the historical and philosophical perspective in the study of the phenomena of society and culture, according to a tradition of research and education that has characterized this university site since its foundation in the early 1970s. The training course will allow the student to acquire knowledge and ability to analyze the sources, full mastery of the authors and texts, as well as the most relevant problems and methods of investigation of the different interpretative traditions. In this way, he will be able to orient himself within the epistemological and contemporary hermeneutic debate both in the historical and in the philosophical sphere.

Curriculum
The degree course in History and Philosophy has two curricula taught in Italian:
- History and philosophy (Siena campus)
- History and philosophy: knowledge and citizenship practices (Arezzo campus)
Program Outcome
Credits - 120 ECTS
Awards - MA (LM-78 and LM-84 Class of second cycle degrees in Philosophical Sciences and Class of second level degrees in Historical Sciences)

Career Opportunities
In general, graduates with a master’s degree in History and Philosophy will have the physiognomy of an expert capable of performing managerial and highly specialized functions in the various fields of teaching and research, cultural production, communication and publishing.
Program delivery
In addition to in-presence teaching, which continues to be the preferred method also in the next Academic Year, every single lesson will be simultaneously live-streamed and/or video recorded and uploaded on our digital platform for subsequent viewing. This mode is essential for students who are temporarily unable to be on premises.
