Introduction
This summer school is a full-immersion workshop on cell culture techniques for both adherent and suspension cell lines with particular emphasis on cell viability assays.
In the workshop, schematic theoretical lectures will be given to introduce the assay protocols and to plan the experimental part that will be hosted in cell biology laboratories.
Students, divided into small groups, will directly execute the experiments under the supervision of a teacher.
This summer school will be repeated in two sessions: 15-18 July 2024 and 22-25 July 2024. In both cases, the registration deadline is 15 May 2024. A special discount corresponding to the amount of the didactic material will be given for early registration by 15 March 2024.
Aim
The Summer School aims to introduce students to cell cultivation and basic assays for cell viability to be used in cell biology, pharmacology, and toxicology fields. In particular, most assays will be carried out by means of flow cytometry, allowing the students to become familiar with this versatile technology.
